Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer and fitness enthusiast from Abuja, was arrested on Sunday after being found in possession of the severed head of his girlfriend.
The shocking incident occurred near a church in the Orozo neighborhood of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where Ajayi was apprehended.
According to The Leadership, Ajayi, who is known for his work as a gospel singer, recording artist, and songwriter, was discovered with the gruesome evidence while close to the church during a service. Social media user Arike, who witnessed the event, shared a video and described the chilling moment.
“I got the shock of my life as we apprehended a Yahoo ritual with a human head (his girlfriend) inside a nylon close to our church as we were holding service. I thought I just used to watch things like this until I experienced one live today,” Arike wrote.
The arrest has left the community in disbelief, as Ajayi had been a well-known figure within the gospel music scene. The motives behind the crime remain unclear, and the police are currently investigating the incident.
