Major General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), declared that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the nation against major battles and long-term conflicts.
Speaking to the IRGC Aerospace forces staff on Saturday, Salami emphasized the culmination of decades of effort in building a robust defense system.
“For years, we have been preparing for large-scale battles and even long-term confrontations with the great powers in the world and their regional proxies, Salami said.
Highlighting the continuous advancement of Iran’s missile capabilities, Salami noted that the country has significantly enhanced its missile systems in terms of quantity, quality, and design.
He proudly stated, “Every day, the number of missiles and missile systems is increasing in all parts of the country. Today, you can shoot hundreds of planes simultaneously in successive waves.
Salami also touched on the country’s commitment to self-reliance. “Iran has never relied on any foreign power to defend our independence, identity, credibility and authority, he asserted.
In his remarks, Salami referenced Operation True Promise II, during which Iran launched around 200 missiles at Israeli military and intelligence bases across occupied territories on October 1.
This operation was a direct response to Israel’s targeted assassinations of key Palestinian and Lebanese Resistance leaders, along with a senior IRGC commander.
Iran’s defense capabilities were further demonstrated on October 26, when its integrated air defense system intercepted and countered Israeli strikes on Iranian border provinces and Tehran.
Salami affirmed Iran’s resolve, stating that the Islamic Republic would respond decisively to any act of aggression and uphold its rights.
