Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has been accused by Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), of libel and inciting his supporters to threaten APC spokesman Felix Morka with death. When Ganduje claimed in a recent interview that Morka had threatened him and his family, he accused Obi of lying.
Obi had claimed that after criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration on New Year’s Day, Morka had threatened his life.
He questioned whether he had “really crossed the line” following claims that Morka had threatened his life, his family, and his associates.
Obi’s accusation came after Morka was quoted as saying in an interview on Sunday, “Peter Obi has crossed the line so many times, and he has what’s coming to him.”. Whatever he receives, he ought to handle it.
The former governor of Anambra State was urged to correct the record after Morka responded that Obi had misquoted him and emphasized that he had never threatened Obi’s life. Nonetheless, Ganduje characterized Obi’s assertions as regrettable and deceptive.
According to the APC Chairman, who personally signed the statement, Obi’s claims were blatant lies and mischievous, and they would have gone unnoticed if it weren’t necessary to disprove such a ludicrous story.
According to Daily Post, Ganduje claims that Mr. Obi has severely libeled Morka by claiming that Morka threatened his life, which has led his online supporters to issue threats against Morka and his family. He emphasized that as a public figure.
